SMS is for household-grade, consent-first alerts — the kind of thing you want when you’re away from the house, not a marketing channel.

Opt-in: via /sms-opt-in.
Purpose: operational alerts and account-related notifications only.
Typical alerts: cat dashboard refresh failures, AI feed high-score announcements, service downtime, and other “house is on fire” events.
Frequency: normally low (0–5 / day). During incidents it can spike.
Opt-out: reply STOP.
